A Passion Project Born

Combining enterprise thinking with heart is how so many great ideas get off the ground - so why not at Your Write?

When we worked with a Neighbourhood House and carers in the small township of Clunes in rural Victoria, we realised that we had more than a great journalling tool in our hands.

The Beginning of a Great Friendship

What we had was a solution to a problem that had been plaguing us. Carers said they wanted somewhere safe and easy to connect with others who were experiencing similiar challenges. They couldn't always meet face to face. They didn't want to have to pick their words carefully all the time. They didn't even want to talk about caregiving necessarily. They just wanted a chance to make friends with like-minded people who understood what they were dealing with day and night.

Like Social Media - But Safer

What people wanted was something as easy to access as social media, but safer. A closed community that was facilitated so that if people needed extra help, or someone to navigate the conversation, that help would be on hand.

It was an idea that would require expertise and attract ongoing costs, and the Neighbourhood House wasn't sure if it could sustain it.

Right in Front of Us!

Ironically the solution was in our hands. Sharing the intellectual copyright with Your Write, they invited us to consider commercialising it so that we could also design the online carers community. It was an idea our team was passionate about, so our Passion Project was born!
